The book Made of Saltwater speaks of queerness in all its anger,
sweetness, and sorrow. It is a collection of queer poetry
and is divided into two parts-- The Bruising and The Loving.
The book attempts to explore the colonial and imperial trauma
which have largely contributed to the intergenerational,
gender-based violence experienced by women and queer people
(mostly those who hail from Eastern Visayas),
and in the process, it celebrates the smallest of victories ,
such as finding love, finding redemption,
and finding one’s self amidst the chaos and the ache.
